Just got my pregnancy confirmed and im not sure when the first scan is supposed to happen. dont want to do it too early or miss the right time. how many scans are normal through the whole pregnancy?
There are a few key scans through the trimesters and your doctor decides the exact timing. I just went whenever mine asked me to. Dont try to plan scans yourself, the doctor knows what each trimester needs.
I was confused about all the different scans too in the beginning. My doc gave me a little schedule which helped a lot. The anomaly scan in 5th month was the one I was most nervous about, anyone else?
My gynac scheduled a dating scan early around 6-8 weeks, then NT scan around 11-13 weeks, anomaly scan around 18-20 weeks and growth scans later. Each one checks different things. Best to just follow your doctors schedule, they plan it as per your case.
