Newly pregnant and just had my first appointment. I dont fully understand the timeline of when each scan happens through the months. Can someone explain roughly when they are usually done?
My doctor scheduled a dating scan around 6 to 8 weeks, the NT scan around 11 to 13 weeks, the anomaly scan around 18 to 20 weeks, and growth scans later. The exact timing can vary by your case. She gave me a printed schedule which was so helpful.

Heads up, scans are one of the bigger recurring costs. I asked if my hospital had a maternity package that included them, which worked out cheaper. Plan for roughly the dating, NT, anomaly and growth scans across the months.
Broadly there are a few key scans, early dating one, the NT around 12 weeks, the big anomaly one near 20 weeks, and growth scans in the third trimester. Your gynac decides the exact dates for u. Just keep all reports together.
