When to apply stretch mark cream during pregnancy?
Im 16 weeks and my belly is just starting to show. Bought a cream already but not sure if its too early to start or i should wait. when did you all begin?
I am still trying to conceive, but I love reading about this. Is it true that we should apply it on the hips and thighs too, or is it just for the stomach? It feels so nice to learn all this beforehand.
I started using cocoa butter in my second trimester, and honestly, the chocolate smell just makes me crave brownies even more! But yes, start early before the belly really pops.
I started applying stretch mark cream in my 4th month when my bump started showing slightly. I'm currently 7 months pregnant now; is it okay to apply it twice a day or is once enough?
In our home, we are advised to apply warm sesame or coconut oil from the fourth month onwards. It is very safe and natural. But do ask your doctor if you want to use any chemical-based creams.
I used to overthink and apply cream three times a day, worrying my skin would tear! But really, starting around 13-14 weeks and doing it twice a day is more than enough. Just take a deep breath, you are doing fine.
Keep your budget in mind, because hospital delivery packages and baby gear are going to cost a lot. Instead of expensive creams, just buy a big tub of pure cocoa butter or coconut oil. Start applying around 12 weeks to keep the skin hydrated.
I panicked so much when I saw my first stretch mark in the second trimester! But then I realized it's completely normal and started moisturizing daily. Don't worry, they fade a lot over time anyway.
I know how stressful it is to see your body changing so fast, and worrying about stretch marks is so normal. Try to start moisturizing from your 12th week. It really helps calm the skin and the mind.
Honestly, no need to buy those expensive boutique stretch mark creams. Normal virgin coconut oil or olive oil applied right after a bath from the 3rd month works just as well to keep the skin soft.
Sending you so much warmth. For your beautiful growing belly, you can start applying a gentle, organic moisturizer from the beginning of your second trimester. It's a sweet way to bond with your baby, dear.
Start moisturizing from the second trimester to keep the skin elastic. After my C-section, I was very careful not to apply anything near the incision area until it fully healed, so keeping the upper belly moisturized early was very helpful.
