Dont count from the day itself, it takes time for hcg to build. Wait till your period is missed, then test with morning urine. Testing a few days after the missed date gives the most reliable result.
I made the mistake of testing too soon and got negative, then was confused. Waited for the missed period and it was positive. Patience is hard but worth it na.
My doctor said implantation happens around a week or more after, and only then hcg starts rising. So testing right after sex is pointless. She recommended waiting until at least the day the period is due or later.
