Its typically done in the second trimester, around the 20 week mark. Your gynac fixes the exact date based on your dating. Just follow the schedule they give you.
My gynac scheduled my anomaly scan around 18 to 20 weeks. She said its the detailed one that checks the babys organs and development. It was the longest scan and they showed me lots of details.
