My periods have always been all over the place so i never know when im actually late. Weve been trying this month and im so confused about the right time to test. How do u all figure it out with irregular cycles?
With irregular cycles like mine, going by a missed period is tricky. I waited about 3 weeks after the possible conception time and tested with morning urine. If its negative but you still suspect, repeat after a week or get a blood test.
My doctor said for irregular periods, count roughly 3 to 4 weeks after intercourse and then test, or just do a blood beta hcg which is more reliable. The urine kit can miss it if you test too early. She preferred the blood test in my case.
When cycles are unpredictable, dont go by missed period, instead test around 3 weeks after possible conception. Use first morning urine for accuracy. If unsure, a lab blood test settles it best.
