A close friend of mine was just told its an ectopic and the doctor mentioned this injection option instead of surgery. We are trying to understand at what stage they decide to go for it. If anyone has been through this pls share.
This is purely a doctor's decision, please dont try to judge timing yourself. It's usually considered for early, stable ectopic cases with low hcg and no rupture, but only the gynac can decide after scans and blood tests. If you suspect an ectopic, get to the hospital fast.
Honestly this is too medical and case specific for any of us to advise. The decision depends on hcg levels, scan findings and your stability. Trust your treating gynac on the exact timing.
I'm so sorry you are dealing with this, ectopic is hard emotionally. The treatment timing is something your doctor will decide based on your reports. Please stay in close touch with them and dont carry this alone, sending you love.
From what I have seen this is given only when the doctor confirms an unruptured ectopic and certain conditions are met. Its not something to plan on our own at all. Whoever this is for needs to be under a gynac's close care right now.
