Im so excited and want to start shopping but my mom says its bad luck to buy too early. Im in 2nd trimester now. When did you all actually start buying things?
In our family my MIL said to keep it simple till the seventh month, some prefer not to buy too early. We did a small shopping around then and it felt right. Do what is comfortable for you and your family.
I started around the start of the third trimester and it was so fun :) I made a list and ticked things off slowly. No rush, just enjoy the process and buy the basics first.
I waited till the third trimester to buy the main things and bought in stages to spread the cost. No point overbuying early, babies outgrow stuff fast. Make a basic list of essentials first and add slowly.
Many start after the anomaly scan around 20 weeks when they feel more settled. I bought essentials in the last couple months. Dont go crazy, newborns need surprisingly little in the beginning.
