When to start calcium and iron tablets during pregnancy?
My gynac gave me folic acid only till now and im in 11th week. MIL keeps saying start iron and calcium already. So actually from which month these usually start? confused thoda.
This is a really important question, and it's best to discuss it with your gynecologist. Every pregnancy is unique, and they will recommend starting calcium and iron supplements based on your individual needs and blood test results. Please follow your doctor's advice carefully.
This is something I've been wondering about as well. I've heard that doctors usually prescribe them after the first trimester, or sometimes even earlier if there's a deficiency. It feels a little overwhelming trying to keep track of everything, but I guess the doctor will guide us.
I totally understand your concern about ensuring you get all the right nutrients for your baby's growth! Your gynac will definitely tell you exactly when to start these supplements. They usually assess your blood work and prescribe them as needed, typically a bit later in pregnancy. Just follow their loving guidance.
I remember feeling so confused about all the supplements! My doctor prescribed them after my initial blood tests, which was around 12-14 weeks for me, in the second trimester. I felt much better knowing I was getting what I needed for the baby. Always ask your gynac directly about this.
Oh, I remember panicking about this too, thinking I was missing something! But actually, your doctor will tell you exactly when to start. For me, they prescribed them a bit later, around the second trimester, after my blood tests. Don't worry, they'll guide you perfectly.
Hey! Your doctor will definitely tell you when to start these, so don't stress too much about it now. Usually, after your initial blood tests, if your levels are low or just to top them up for the baby's growth, they'll prescribe them. Mine started them after the first trimester, but it varies.
Oh god, supplements! I think I started them whenever my gynac actually remembered to tell me, haha. Seriously though, it's strictly doc's orders. They'll check your iron and calcium levels first, then tell you when to pop 'em. Don't self-medicate, even with vitamins!
Your doctor will advise you on when to begin taking calcium and iron tablets. They usually do some tests first. Just follow what your gynac says, they know what is best for you and your baby.
In my experience, at a good hospital, they typically assess your blood work in the first trimester. Based on those reports, the gynac usually starts calcium and iron tablets. It's crucial to ask your doctor directly and the hospital staff will also guide you on dosage and timing.
My doctor prescribed them after reviewing my blood reports, which is the standard procedure. It's usually not right from conception, but often in the second trimester or based on your individual needs. Always consult your gynac for exact timing and dosage, just like with any exercise routine.
It's so natural to think about all these things for your baby's health! Your doctor will guide you perfectly on when to start calcium and iron. For me, they started in the second trimester. Just trust your gynac, they'll make sure you and your little one get everything needed.
Initially, I tried to get all my nutrients from food, like ragi for calcium and green leafy veggies for iron. But my doctor eventually prescribed supplements after checking my blood work, I think it was around 4-5 months. Definitely discuss this with your gynac, as they will have the best advice for you.
