Read somewhere that kegels help for delivery and after. Im 16 weeks now. Is this the right time to start or should i wait till later? anyone doing these, when did u begin?
Please don't start any pelvic exercises without asking your doctor. I had cervix issues and my gynac strictly told me to avoid Kegels, so always get their go-ahead first.
You can actually start Kegels at any time, even from the first trimester if your pregnancy is normal. Just do 5-10 repetitions daily while sitting or lying down, it really helps in labor.
I am planning my pregnancy and was just wondering about this! Is it better to start doing Kegels even before conceiving, or should we only do them once we are pregnant?
Honestly, start them as early as possible so you don't end up peeing yourself every time you sneeze like I do now! 😭 Joking aside, second trimester is great, but do them regularly!
My mother told me that postpartum recovery is easier with pelvic exercises, so I started them in my second trimester. However, please make sure your doctor confirms it is safe for your specific pregnancy.
I'm no doctor, but in my experience, I started gentle Kegels in my fifth month after seeing some YouTube videos. It really helped with bladder control during the later months.
I understand how overwhelming it is to decide when to start what! I was so scared of doing them wrong in my first trimester. Don't worry, just start gently in your second trimester when you feel more stable and settled.
