My MIL keeps saying start kesar doodh for fair baby and all that, but im not sure from which month its actually okay. Currently in my 2nd trimester. Anyone started it, and when?
Honestly, I'm in my fifth month now and also quite confused about this. My MIL is pushing me to start drinking kesar milk from tonight, but I'm slightly scared of body heat. Did anyone else feel any stomach issues after starting it?
Just be careful not to add sugar or high-calorie sweeteners to your milk if you are starting kesar. I had gestational diabetes and had to keep my milk totally sugar-free. I used to just boil 2 strands of kesar in plain milk from the 2nd trimester, and it was quite comforting.
Beta, traditionally we always advise to start kesar milk only after the first trimester is over, mostly from the fifth month when you can feel the baby's movement. Just add a pinch—around 2 strands—in warm milk with a little almond. Don't take it in early months as it is very warm for the womb.
Since I had a history of PCOS, my body was already quite sensitive, so I actually waited until my 20-week scan before starting kesar. My doctor told me it's safe in moderation but to avoid it in early weeks. Just start with 1-2 strands and see how your body reacts, dear.
I started taking just 2-3 strands of kesar in warm milk from my fifth month onwards. Before that, my doctor advised to avoid it because it is considered warm for the body. It really helped me sleep peacefully at night during my second trimester.
