My MIL keeps telling me to start kesar milk but I dont know the right time. Im in my first trimester still. Is it fine to start now or wait for some weeks? pls share.
Honestly, don't start it in the first trimester, especially if you have bad morning sickness as the strong smell of kesar can make you throw up. I started having it in my 5th month, just 1-2 strands in warm milk at night, which also helped me sleep better.
Real saffron is quite expensive, so don't waste money buying cheap local brands that might be adulterated. Since you need to plan for hospital deliveries and tests, just buy a tiny pack of pure organic kesar and start in the 5th month, only using 2 strands a day.
I would strongly recommend checking with your gynac first because saffron produces heat in the body. My doctor advised me to wait until the 5th month (second trimester) and to keep the quantity very limited, just 2 strands max.
Haan, hamare yahan to bolte hain ki second trimester se hi start karna chahiye, around the 5th month. Thoda sa doodh mein daal ke peeo, par garmiyon mein quantity bilkul kam rakhna na.
My family kept telling me that kesar milk will make the baby fair, which is total nonsense haha! But I still started it in my 5th month just because it tasted good and helped with my midnight hunger pangs.
Please be extremely cautious and wait until the 5th month to start saffron milk. Early pregnancy is very delicate, and since saffron can cause uterine contractions if taken in large amounts, it’s best to avoid it completely in the first trimester.
