When to stop taking progesterone during pregnancy?
Doc put me on progesterone since early weeks as i had some history. Now im 13 weeks and wondering till when it usually continues. will ask my gynac also but wanted to know if any of u stopped around this time.
I completely understand the anxiety of taking hormonal pills every day. For me, my gynac stopped it gradually after my 12th-week scan. Please discuss this with your doctor before making any changes.
Oh my god, I used to worry daily about stopping progesterone, thinking it might affect my baby. But my gynac safely guided me to stop it at 14 weeks. Please don't stop it without their green light!
Beta, these hormonal medicines are very delicate. Don't listen to anyone else's timing. Let your doctor check your scans and decide when it is safe to stop.
Don't stress too much about the pills, your doc will guide you. Usually they stop it around the end of the first trimester once the placenta takes over, but ask your gynac first!
I was on progesterone support for almost 12 weeks during my IVF journey. Please be extremely careful and never stop it on your own. Only your doctor should tell you when and how to taper it off safely.
