I have a heart valve issue and ive been on warfarin for years. Now we're planning a baby and im really confused about how this medicine works during pregnancy. I'll obviously talk to my doctor first but if anyone has handled this pls share your experience.
Beta this is not something to take advice on from a community group. It really needs ur doctor to decide based on ur condition. Please book an appointment soon and let them guide the medicine plan.
This is strictly a doctor decision, please dont go by anyone online. Warfarin timing in pregnancy has to be managed very carefully by ur cardiologist and gynac together. Do not stop or adjust it yourself, call ur doctor right away to plan it.
A relative was on blood thinners and planning pregnancy, and her doctors had a whole protocol about switching medicines at certain points. The point is it was all doctor planned and monitored with regular blood tests. Pls dont DIY this one, get ur cardiologist and obgyn to coordinate.
Honestly i wouldnt dare advise on blood thinner timing, its too serious to guess. The doctors handle this very specifically for each patient. Please get this directly from the specialist treating u.
