My doctor told me i need to take the tetanus injection but i forgot to ask the exact timing for it. Im around 4 months now. Just want to know when it is usually given so i can plan my visit, anyone remember the schedule?
I just got my first TT this month and was nervous about it haha. The arm was a bit sore for a day, anyone else? My doctor said second one comes after about a month. They track it on the card so i didnt have to remember.
Good thing is TT is given free at government hospitals and centres, so you dont have to spend on it. Usually two doses in the second half of pregnancy. Just keep your antenatal card and they note the dates, very simple.
My gynac gave me the first TT around the 4th-5th month and the second roughly 4 weeks later. She said its standard to protect both mom and baby from tetanus. Honestly the timing is best left to the doctor since it can vary by your history.
The TT injection is usually given in two doses, the first one in early second trimester and the second about a month after. If you had it in a recent pregnancy you may need just a booster. Your doctor schedules it during your regular visits, so they will tell you the exact dates.
