My home test came positive last week and gynac has given me an appointment. But i keep wondering when is the right time for the first scan, like which week? Dont want to go too early and not see anything. What was ur experience?
In my case doc called me early for a scan because of some spotting. So timing can change if there are any symptoms. If u have any pain or bleeding dont wait, get checked right away.
Just a heads up, scans add up cost wise so plan a bit. There are usually 3 main scans through pregnancy. I booked at a smaller diagnostic centre with doctor's reference and it was cheaper than hospital.
Dont rush for scan the moment test is positive. Usually 6 to 8 weeks is when first scan happens. Go by what your doctor schedules, they know best timing for each stage.
My gynac did the first scan around 6-7 weeks to confirm and check heartbeat. Then there's a NT scan around 11-13 weeks and the anomaly scan around 18-20 weeks. Your doctor will tell exact dates based on your reports.
Take it slow beta. The doctor will fix scan dates for you, you dont have to decide on your own. Usually first one is after you cross 6 weeks. Just follow her schedule and rest well.
I had my first one at 7 weeks and was so nervous before it. Did anyone else feel anxious about the early scan? Doc said its normal to wait till 6 weeks atleast so the baby is visible.
