When to test for pregnancy if you have irregular periods?
My cycles are all over the place, sometimes 35 days sometimes more, so i never know when im actually "late". We are trying this month and i dont want to test too early and get sad. When should i actually check?
It can be tricky, but don't lose heart! Wait for about 15-20 days after you suspect you conceived to take the test. A positive result will show up clearly once the hormone levels are high enough. All the very best to you!
With irregular cycles, testing too early will only give you false negatives. Wait for at least 35 to 40 days from your last period before using a home kit. If it shows negative but your period still hasn't arrived in a week, test again.
Oh god, with irregular periods, testing is such a guessing game! I used to buy bulk test kits because I never knew when to test. Honestly, the best time is about 14 to 17 days after you think you had unprotected intercourse, otherwise you'll just waste kits.
When I had irregular cycles, my doctor at the hospital advised me to wait at least 3 weeks after the suspected conception date to test. If you are confused, just call your hospital's OPD or your gynac's assistant. They can guide you clearly on when to come in for a blood test.
I am also in the same boat with irregular cycles and it's so confusing! I read that testing 35-40 days after your last period or about two weeks after suspected ovulation is a safe time. Have you tried tracking your ovulation with strips to make it easier?
