Being a first time mom i panic at every small thing, every twinge or pain makes me nervous. I just want to understand which signs are actually serious enough to call the gynac and which are normal. How do you all know the difference?
Having had complications, I would say never ignore heavy bleeding, severe pain, high fever, bad headache with blurry vision or reduced baby movement. Any of these, call your gynac or go in straight away. Trusting my gut and going early really mattered for me.
Beta, most days will be normal so try not to live in fear. But trust your instincts, if something feels really off like bleeding or no baby movement, ring your doctor at once. It is always okay to get checked for your peace of mind.
I totally understand wanting to know the warning signs, it shows you care. The main ones are bleeding, strong pain, leaking water and reduced movement. Listen to your body and reach out to your doctor whenever something worries you, you are doing great.
The big red flags are bleeding, strong cramps, water leaking, very high BP, constant vomiting and the baby moving much less than usual. Anything like that, don't wait, contact your doctor. Otherwise the normal aches and tiredness are just part of it.
Keep your doctor's number handy and call for any bleeding, severe pain, fever, dizziness or less movement. Never feel shy to ask, that is what they are there for. Better one extra call than ignoring a warning sign.
