First pregnancy so im a bit confused about the timing. My doc mentioned TT but i forgot which month it starts and how many doses. Around what week did u all get urs?
I remember getting so anxious about the TT injection and when to get it. Please don't stress, your gynac will tell you the exact week, usually it's in the second trimester. Just follow their schedule, you are doing great!
Usually, the first Tetanus Toxoid (TT) dose is given around 20-24 weeks, and the second one is after 4 weeks. Some doctors also give a single Tdap dose instead of the second TT. Just ask your gynac on your next visit, they will schedule it perfectly.
My MIL was constantly reminding me about the TT injection from the third month itself! But when we asked the doc, she said we will do it in the second trimester. So don't worry, your doctor will write it down in your file at the right time.
According to WHO guidelines and what my doctor explained, two doses of TT are given to prevent tetanus infection. Usually, the first dose is around the 5th month and the second one is a month later. Make sure to keep your vaccination card handy and update your gynac.
