Twins run in my family on my moms side so the thought is always at the back of my mind. I have my first scan next week and im excited and nervous both. At which week does the scan usually show if its twins?
My gynac said twins are typically picked up on the first dating scan, somewhere between 6 and 9 weeks. Sometimes high hCG levels can hint at it even before the scan.
Mine showed up on the first scan around 7 weeks, two little blinking dots, I nearly fell off the table. Usually the early ultrasound is when it gets confirmed.
It's the early sonography that confirms it, usually in the first trimester. Some women also notice symptoms feeling stronger but only the scan tells for sure.
