Heard some ladies talking about cervix opening and now im curious matlab when does this actually happen in pregnancy. Im 6 months and just want to understand the process. someone explain in simple words?
It should definitely stay locked shut until your due date! With my twins, they checked my cervical length constantly to make sure it wasn't opening too early.
Uterus mouth or cervix opens during labor. If you suspect any early opening, heavy pressure, or bleeding, you need to contact your gynecologist immediately.
They usually check the cervical length during your anomaly scan which is very important. Make sure you don't skip these routine scans as they plan everything safely for the delivery.
I panicked when I heard about cervical dilation, thinking it could happen anytime. But actually, it only opens when your body is fully ready for labor near the end.
The cervix only opens up when you are in active labor and ready to deliver the baby! If it happens early, it's a medical issue, so your doctor will check this in your regular scans. 😊
