I'm 9 weeks and the scale hasnt really moved, actually lost a little because of nausea. My MIL keeps commenting that i should be gaining by now. When does the weight actually start going up?
Real weight gain mostly kicks in from the 2nd trimester onwards. First trimester I actually lost a bit because of nausea both times. Dont panic if the scale barely moves early on, its normal.
Mine started rising steadily from around the 4th month. I kept up light walking that my doctor okayed so the gain stayed healthy and gradual. Steady gain is better than sudden, so just eat balanced and stay a little active if allowed.
Im 18 weeks and only now starting to gain, before this it was almost nothing. Was it the same for you all? I kept worrying I wasnt eating enough for the baby.
Honestly first 3 months I lost weight, couldnt eat anything without throwing up. The gain started properly in month 4-5 once the sickness eased and my appetite came back. So dont worry if early on theres no gain.
