When will the milk start producing during pregnancy?
I'm in my second trimester and wondering about breastfeeding. When does milk production usually start during pregnancy, or is it something that only happens after delivery? Just trying to understand my body's changes.
Colostrum can sometimes leak in the 3rd trimester, which is totally normal. But the real milk supply is triggered only after the placenta is delivered. If you have any pain or hard lumps, do show it to your gynac.
I am currently 28 weeks and sometimes I see tiny yellow drops on my bra. Is this normal colostrum? Are other pregnant moms also experiencing this so early?
When I was staying at my parents' house, my mom explained that the body produces yellowish colostrum first, mostly after baby is born. No need to stress about early leakage, it is very natural.
I just delivered last month! My milk didn't leak at all during pregnancy, but right after birth, the golden colostrum came, and normal milk started on day 3. It's a completely natural process.
Don't worry, your body is preparing even if you don't see it yet. For me, actual milk production started only 2 days after delivery, though I had a bit of sticky liquid earlier. Just eat well and keep hydrated.
