Im 34 weeks and getting nervous about the whole delivery thing, especially this water breaking part. I keep wondering when it actually happens and how i'll even know. Pls share ur experience, first time mom here.
My doctor said most waters break at full term, around 37 to 40 weeks, usually as labour begins. She told me if it breaks and contractions dont start, or if it happens early, to come to hospital right away. So note the time and colour if it happens.
Usually it happens around the time labour starts, often near your due date or when contractions begin. For many women it actually breaks during labour at the hospital, not before. Mine broke only after I was already in labour both times.
Mine broke at home a day before my due date, just a sudden gush and I knew it was time. For others it can be a slow trickle. Everyone is different, so dont expect a dramatic movie moment necessarily.
Im 38 weeks and honestly waiting for this like a suspense movie lol. From what everyone tells me it usually breaks around now or when labour kicks in. Bag packed, slippers ready, just waiting for the splash.
Important point, if your water breaks before 37 weeks or the fluid looks greenish or smells off, go to the hospital immediately, dont wait. In my case it broke early and they monitored me closely. Always inform your gynac when it happens.
