Sounds silly maybe but im just curious how it shifts as the baby grows. Sometimes i feel pressure low down and sometimes higher up near belly button. Just trying to understand whats happening inside me.
My app actually had a nice picture of this every week, the uterus rising up from the pelvis towards the ribs. The doctor measures it from the pubic bone, they call it fundal height at each visit.
My doctor showed me on the scan, early on the uterus sits low behind the bladder in the pelvis. As baby grows it rises up, by around 12 weeks you can feel it above the pubic bone and later it reaches near the ribs. Thats why the bump goes higher over months.
Basically it starts low in the pelvis and climbs up your belly as the baby gets bigger. By the end its right up near your chest, thats why breathing feels short in last weeks.
