I know how stressful it is to worry if a tight waistband is hurting your baby, I used to worry about that constantly. But don't worry, the baby is well protected. Just tie your pants below your bump or switch to maternity pants to ease your mind.

I felt so restricted wearing my normal jeans early on, so I quickly switched to soft leggings tied way below my belly. It felt so much more comfortable and let me breathe easily. Your comfort is the most important thing right now!
Tie them below your bump so there is absolutely no pressure on your lower abdomen. I do this for my maternity leggings when I go for my daily walks. Just make sure the fit is comfortable and your doctor has cleared you for light exercise!
My mother told me to wear loose nighties or tie my petticoats strictly below the waist so there is no tightness on the baby. It is a very sensible family advice. Just use soft cotton drawstrings and keep them loose and comfortable.
