Just got my positive test and im so new to all this, dont even know who to book first. Is it a gynac or some other specialist? Pls guide me, want to start my checkups properly.
Go to a gynac, but also think about where you want to deliver since costs vary a lot. I picked a gynac attached to a hospital that fit my budget and did all my checkups there, saved running around. Ask about package costs early so there's no surprise later.
An obstetrician gynaecologist is who you want. I'd suggest going to a good hospital, meeting the gynac and just asking the staff clearly about checkup schedule and what's included. Choose someone you can ask questions to freely, you'll be seeing them a lot.
It's a gynaecologist you go to, that's what I was confused about too at first! I asked friends for recommendations and picked one I felt comfortable talking to, that really matters. Did you all also feel nervous choosing the first time? Comfort with the doctor is half the battle.
You need a gynaecologist (obstetrician), that's the one who handles pregnancy and delivery. Pick one near you or at the hospital where you plan to deliver. Book the first appointment as soon as your test is positive, dont wait too long.
You should see a gynaecologist beta. Family might suggest names, which is nice, but pick one you feel comfortable and safe with. I stayed with the same gynac my whole pregnancy and that continuity really helped, she knew my whole history.
