Currently in my 3rd trimester and survived mostly on almonds and cashews because cooking feels like a marathon! Dates are great too now, apparently they help with labor. Just don't eat the whole packet at once like I almost did!
I'm in my 2nd trimester and started having almonds and walnuts, but I'm always worried about the heat they produce. Do you guys soak them overnight or eat them raw? Would love to know what others are doing.
Be careful with dates, raisins, and figs if your sugar levels are on the higher side. I had gestational diabetes, so my doctor limited me to only walnuts and soaked almonds. Check your sugar before eating too many sweet dry fruits.
When I couldn't keep any heavy food down, walnuts and almonds were my lifesavers. Soaking them makes them easier on the stomach. Dry fruits give quick energy when you're feeling extremely nauseous.
When I was at my mom's place, she used to give me soaked almonds and walnuts every single morning. Dates and figs (anjeer) are also amazing, especially in the later months. Just don't overdo the quantity.
I regularly ate soaked almonds, walnuts, and raisins during my pregnancy. Dates are also super helpful for stamina. They keep you energetic, which really helps during labor.
