My family keeps stuffing me with all kinds of dry fruits saying its good for the baby. But i feel some of them might be too heat producing or not safe. Which ones should i actually avoid? thoda confused with all the advice.
With my sugar issue I had to limit dates and raisins since they're quite sweet, my doctor told me to keep them minimal. The nuts like almonds and walnuts were totally fine. So depends on your health, ask your gynac.
Beta most dry fruits like almonds, walnuts, dates are actually very good in pregnancy. People mostly worry about too many in the heat producing ones. Just dont overeat any one thing, a small mixed handful daily is plenty.
My doctor said almonds, walnuts, figs, dates are all great, no dry fruit is really banned in normal amounts. The only caution she gave was not to overdo it since they're calorie dense, and to soak almonds. If you have gestational diabetes go easy on dates and raisins though.
I ate a mix of soaked almonds, walnuts and a couple of dates daily, all good. Theres no scary forbidden dry fruit really, the only rule is moderation and listening to your doctor if you have any condition.
