Which folic acid tablet is best before pregnancy?
Planning to conceive in few months and read that folic acid should start beforehand. There are so many brands na, totally confused which one to pick. What did ur gynac suggest?
I took the one my gynac prescribed three months before we started trying. I don't remember the exact name, but doctors usually prescribe a standard 5mg folic acid. Definitely consult your doctor before starting any.
Folic acid is amazing for preventing birth defects, so it's great you are planning ahead. My doctor suggested a daily prenatal vitamin that had folic acid in it. Just book a quick consultation and get a prescription.
When we decided to conceive, I felt so overwhelmed about what vitamins to take. My doctor prescribed a small yellow tablet that I took daily. It made me feel like I was already taking care of my future baby.
Honestly, different bodies need different dosages, especially if there are any underlying deficiencies. It's best not to take over-the-counter ones without asking your doctor. A quick gynac visit will get you the exact supplement you need.
I am currently 4 months pregnant and my doctor started my folic acid even before I got positive. Did your doctor suggest any blood tests before prescribing it? I had to do a CBC test first.
Haha, don't just walk into a pharmacy and pick any random bottle, na! Every brand has different compositions. Just visit a doctor and they'll give you the perfect one for your body.
