Just got to know im pregnant last week and suddenly everyone is telling me dont eat this dont eat that. I want a clear idea of what i should actually avoid so i dont keep worrying after every meal. Pls share what u all stayed away from.
Honestly the hardest part was giving up my golgappe and street food, missed it so much. Raw sushi, runny eggs, unpasteurised cheese all out. But cooked properly I still enjoyed my meals, dont worry.
Elders at home told me avoid papaya and pineapple, and I did. Doctor mainly stressed on raw and unhygienic food. Home cooked fresh meals are the safest, that's what I stuck to.
Apart from the raw stuff, I'd also say watch too much sugar and sweets, I got GD so that became a thing for me. But everyone is different, best to check with ur doctor on ur own diet.
My doctor gave me a list actually, raw or undercooked eggs and meat, unpasteurised milk and cheese, raw papaya and too much pineapple, and street cut fruit. Also limit caffeine. Cooked properly everything is much safer.
Main things to avoid, anything raw or half cooked, leftover food sitting out, and outside cut fruits. Wash veggies well. I ate normal home food otherwise, no need to stress over every single thing.
