Everyone in the family is giving me different lists, no papaya, no this no that, im so confused now. This is my first pregnancy so I really dont want to make a mistake. Can you all tell me what you actually avoided?
Main ones i avoided were raw or undercooked egg and meat, unpasteurised milk, too much papaya and pineapple, and outside cut fruits/street food because of infection. Limit caffeine too. Everything cooked well is your friend.
My gynac gave me a list, raw seafood and eggs, soft unpasteurised cheese, raw sprouts, high mercury fish, excess caffeine, alcohol and raw papaya. She said keep food hot and freshly cooked. Worth getting a list from ur own doctor too.
Ugh the hardest part. I had to skip my favourite golgappe and raw papaya salad. Basically avoid raw, half cooked, street and unpasteurised stuff. Cravings ko thoda manage karna padta hai but it's just few months.
Apart from the usual raw stuff, since i had sugar issues i had to watch sweets, white rice and fruit juices closely. So food advice really depends on ur condition, ask ur doctor especially if ur sugar or BP is borderline.
Actually the simple rule is avoid kuch bhi raw ya bahar ka cut hua, yaar. No raw egg, no street chaat, limited chai coffee. Ghar ka fresh khana sabse safe rehta hai.
Elders always say avoid raw papaya and excess pineapple in early months, and i kept that. Also stay away from leftover and outside food beta. But for anything specific, listen to ur doctor over old sayings.
