Just entered my second trimester and everyone at home is giving different advice on what i shouldnt eat, papaya, pineapple and all. getting confused yaar. can someone tell what u actually avoided?
General list is raw/undercooked stuff, high mercury fish, unpasteurised cheese, excess caffeine and alcohol fully. But your doctor's list is the one to follow since it depends on your health. Mine added a couple of things specific to me.
Raw or undercooked eggs and meat, unpasteurised milk, too much caffeine and raw papaya are the usual avoids. I also stayed off street pani puri type stuff for hygiene. Rest mostly fine in moderation.
Beta elders always say avoid raw papaya and pineapple in early months. I followed it lightly to be safe. For the rest just eat fresh home cooked food, avoid too oily and outside things, that's the main thing.
Apart from the raw food risks, I had to watch sugar a lot because of GD. So too many sweets and juices were a no for me. Everyone's restrictions differ, so get a diet list from your own doctor honestly.
Simple rule I followed, cook everything well and avoid raw and outside food, saved me from infections and extra doctor visits. No need for expensive special foods. Just clean home meals and the few known avoids.
