My mom keeps saying papaya and pineapple are a no during pregnancy but i love them and im confused if its just a myth. Im in my first trimester. Which fruits did your doctors actually tell u to skip?
Beta our elders always said avoid raw papaya and too much pineapple in pregnancy, especially early on. Ripe papaya in small amount most say is okay. But honestly every body is different, so do check once with your doctor about what to limit.
The common ones people mention are raw/unripe papaya and lots of pineapple. Most fruits are actually great for you in pregnancy. I'd say wash everything well and have variety in moderation, and ask your gynac if you have a specific worry, rather than cutting out fruits unnecessarily.
My family also avoided raw papaya during pregnancy, it's a common belief. But my doctor said most fruits in normal amounts are completely healthy. So I enjoyed my fruits and just skipped the raw papaya to keep everyone at home happy.
Raw papaya is the big one everyone avoids, and dont overdo pineapple. Otherwise eat your fruits, they're good for you and the baby. Just wash properly and dont eat cut fruit lying around outside, hygiene matters more than the fruit type honestly.
