Reading a lot about how hormones change everything during this time and im genuinely curious which hormones are actually responsible. My moods are all over the place so just trying to understand whats happening inside.
My doctor explained that hCG is the main early one that the test detects, along with progesterone and estrogen rising a lot. Later relaxin loosens the joints and prolactin preps for milk. Each plays its own role she said.
There are several, hCG early on, then progesterone and estrogen do most of the work through pregnancy. The relaxin one is why your joints ache later. It is a whole hormone party honestly.
Basically a cocktail of hormones runs the show, hCG, progesterone, estrogen and more. They are also why I cried at a biscuit ad once haha. Totally normal, blame the chemistry.
