I always get confused with this week counting business. My app says one thing and my own dates feel different. How do you actually count which week is the first one?
The apps ask for your last period date for exactly this reason, week 1 starts from there. It auto calculates everything after. Just feed in the right LMP and it sorts your weeks out.
They count from the last menstrual period, not from the day you conceived. So your dates will always seem ahead of conception. Just note your LMP date and the doctor calculates from there.
I was so confused when the doctor said I was 6 weeks but we calculated differently at home. Did anyone else feel the dates dont match conception? The LMP thing finally made sense to me.
This confused me too. My doctor explained that week 1 is actually counted from the first day of your last period, even before you conceive. So by the time you miss your period you are already around 4 weeks. Sounds weird but that is the standard way.
