Trying to eat more millets these days for health but heard some are not good in pregnancy. Im in second trimester and dont want to eat the wrong one by mistake. Anyone knows which ones to avoid?
I know how stressful it is to overthink every single grain you put on your plate, your anxiety is so valid! Generally, bajra is said to produce heat, so just eat it in moderation and don't worry too much.
I loved my ragi rotis and jowar khichdi during pregnancy! Some people say bajra is too heavy and hot for the stomach, so maybe limit that and enjoy other yummy millets instead.
I totally understand wanting to be so careful with what you eat, I was also terrified of eating the wrong thing. Millets like bajra are considered 'garam' or heat-producing, so try to avoid them in large quantities, especially early on.
With my twins, I was eating for three, but my doctor told me to limit bajra as it can be a bit heavy to digest. Jowar and ragi are much easier on the stomach, so stick to those!
Please check with your gynac before adding or removing millets from your diet. Some millets can produce body heat, so it is safest to ask your doctor what suits your body.
