My MIL keeps telling me to oil my belly to avoid stretch marks but everyone suggests a different one. Im in my second trimester now. What oil did u all use and did it actually help?
Depends what u mean. For cooking, light use of normal oils like olive, groundnut or rice bran is fine, just dont eat too oily. For skin, coconut or almond oil are gentle. If u have a diet restriction, your doctor or dietician can guide best.
If u mean cooking oil, in our home we used groundnut and a bit of coconut oil, simple and light. Family always said dont fry too much in pregnancy. For belly massage I used coconut oil. But if u have any condition, do check with ur gynac on diet.
I liked coconut and almond oil for massaging my tummy and legs, felt nice and helped with the dry itchy skin. For eating, light home cooked food with normal oil. Just dont go for any random herbal oils internally without asking ur doctor.
No need to buy expensive special oils yaar. For belly I used plain coconut oil, cheap and worked fine. For cooking, normal household oil in limited quantity is enough. Save ur money for the actual baby stuff later.
For cooking I just stuck to my regular home oils in moderation, mustard, groundnut, whatever u normally use is fine, just dont overdo oily food. For tummy and stretch marks I used coconut and almond oil. No magic oil, just keep it balanced.
