Im 5 months along and sleeping has become such a struggle. I keep ending up on my back out of habit and then feel bad about it. Which side is actually better and how do you all manage to stay in one position whole night?
Sleeping is now a full engineering project with five pillows around me haha. Left side with a pillow hugged is my setup. Whatever lets you sleep, just avoid flat on back in late months.
Left side is what they recommend, especially in later months, its best for blood flow to the baby. I used a pillow between my knees and one behind my back. Game changer for comfort honestly.
My gynac told me left side sleeping improves circulation and is gentler on the major blood vessels, especially third trimester. She said dont panic if you wake up on your back, just turn back to the side. A pregnancy pillow helped me a lot.
