I am not able to eat enough protein because dal and paneer smell weird to me now. My doctor mentioned increasing protein but didn't name any powder yet. Which one did your gynac suggest?
Honestly before spending on powders I focused on dal, eggs, paneer, milk, peanuts, all cheaper and full of protein. I only used a powder when my doctor okayed one. Ask first, food might be enough for you.
My doctor said dont just buy any gym protein powder, many have additives and stimulants. If protein is low she'd recommend a specific pregnancy safe one. So the best one is whatever your gynac/dietician approves for you, not a random off the shelf pick.
I'm careful with supplements in pregnancy. I asked my doctor before taking any protein powder because some have added stuff not meant for pregnancy. She suggested getting protein from food first. Please check with yours before picking a brand.
There isnt one best brand for everyone, it depends on your needs and what's safe. I got my protein mostly from food in both pregnancies. If you really need a powder, let your doctor pick a pregnancy specific one.
At home we managed protein with curd, eggs, dal and a glass of milk, my amma swore by it. I'd only add a powder if the doctor felt it was needed. Do ask your gynac before choosing.
