First pregnancy and im honestly clueless about what all i should be eating, everyone at home is giving different advice. I want to make sure baby is getting proper nutrition. What was on your daily plate mommas?
U dont need expensive superfoods yaar. Seasonal fruits, dal, milk, curd, eggs, peanuts, bananas, all cheap and nutritious. I managed a healthy pregnancy on a normal budget. Plus whatever vitamins the doc prescribes.
My app broke it into protein, iron, calcium and folate sources, which made it easy. Like milk and ragi for calcium, spinach and dates for iron. Eat a bit of everything. Avoid raw/undercooked stuff and ask doc about anything ur unsure of.
Focus on lots of veggies, protein and whole grains, and go easy on sugary and fried things. I had GD so I learnt this the hard way. Small frequent meals helped me. A dietitian or ur doctor can make a plan suited to u.
Keep it simple and balanced, dal, roti, sabzi, curd, fruits, eggs or paneer for protein. Add iron rich stuff like green leafy veg. I didnt do anything fancy both times and was fine. Take whatever supplements ur gynac gives along with it.
Eat fresh home food, plenty of fruits and protein and drink lots of water beta. Dont stress over rules too much, ghar ka khana is the best. Your doctor will fill the gaps with supplements.
Honestly eat colourful and home cooked mostly, fruits, nuts, dahi, paneer, eggs. I gave in to cravings sometimes too haha, just balance it out. Pregnancy isnt the time to crash diet, just eat well.
