Im in my 9th month now and my gynac mentioned one more scan before delivery. I forgot to ask the exact name of it. Just wanted to know what type of ultrasound is usually done at this stage and what they check.
For me they did extra dopplers in the last month cause they were monitoring the baby closely. So it really depends on your individual case. Dont skip these end scans, they help the doctor catch anything early and plan the delivery safely.
Usually its a growth scan in the 9th month to see baby weight, position and fluid. Sometimes a doppler scan too. Both my times the doctor used it to plan for delivery. Just follow whatever your gynac advises for you.
At my hospital the last scan was a growth and wellbeing scan, they explained it checks weight, position and fluids before delivery. I just asked the doctor straight what each scan was for and they told clearly. You can ask yours too, they dont mind.
In my last month my doctor did a growth scan along with a doppler to check blood flow to the baby. They also checked the baby position, fluid level and placenta. Your doctor decides exactly which one based on how youre doing, so ask her.
