I had noodles from outside yesterday and only after eating remembered they put ajinomoto in it. Now im a bit worried, everyone says avoid it during pregnancy but nobody tells why exactly. Can someone explain?
My doctor said its not exactly poison but its better to limit MSG because it can trigger headaches and make you very thirsty in some people, and pregnancy already makes us sensitive. Also Chinese food has too much salt which isnt great for BP. She told me occasional is okay, just dont make it regular.
I cut down ordering Chinese during pregnancy mostly for the salt and oil, not just ajinomoto. When I craved noodles I made them at home without it. Easier on the stomach and you control what goes in.
Ugh the noodles craving was real for me too. I just made desi style maggi at home without any of that stuff and it satisfied me. Outside Chinese gave me crazy thirst and bloating so I gave up.
Honestly its more about the junk that comes with it, the oily salty Chinese food and the bloating after. I just avoided it because it gave me acidity badly. Once in a while wont harm but daily na, skip it.
