At my last scan the doc mentioned my fluid levels and it got me curious about how it all works. Why does it keep increasing as the baby grows? just want to understand better.
My gynac told me the fluid increases as the baby grows because it protects and cushions the baby and helps lung development. It usually peaks around mid third trimester. She tracked my levels in the growth scans.
I got a bit worried when i heard about fluid levels, did anyone else stress over this? My doc said mine was perfectly normal. It calmed me down to hear its expected to change.
My fluid was on the higher side once and my doctor monitored it closely. Some increase is normal as baby grows, but if a scan shows too much or too little they will guide you. Always go by your doctors reading, not assumptions.
