Why are my nipples dry and flaky during pregnancy?
Suddenly noticing my nipples getting super dry and flaky, kinda itchy too. Im in 2nd trimester now. Is this just a pregnancy thing or should i be worried? Pls share ur experience.
I had the exact same issue during my fourth month, they were so dry and itchy. I didn't want to use heavy creams, so I just used natural ghee or virgin coconut oil. It helped soothe the skin completely in a few days.
Oh, that's just pregnancy hormones playing tricks on your skin! 😅 It's super common as your breasts are preparing for breastfeeding. Just apply some pure coconut oil after bathing, it works like magic!
I understand how every little change in your body can make you feel scared and anxious. Please don't worry, dry nipples are a very normal part of breast changes during pregnancy. Just be gentle with yourself and use a mild moisturizer.
Hormonal shifts often strip the skin of its natural moisture during pregnancy. While coconut oil or a good nipple butter can relieve the dryness, it's always best to mention it to your doctor at your next visit just to be sure it's not an infection.
Oh god, I panicked so much when mine got flaky, I thought something was wrong with my milk ducts! But my doctor said it's just normal dryness from hormones. Try to wear soft cotton bras and keep them moisturized so you don't get scratches.
It's totally normal, your body is getting ready for lactation. Don't scrub them hard while bathing as it makes the dryness worse. Use a heavy moisturizer or nipple butter like Lansinoh, it really helps.
Try applying a drop of breastmilk or some warm coconut oil ghar pe, it is very safe and natural. But if there is any bleeding, cracking, or severe pain, please show it to your gynac. Don't ignore severe symptoms.
