Why are the first 3 months of pregnancy dangerous?
Im 7 weeks along and everyone around me keeps saying be very careful in the first three months, dont tell anyone yet. It honestly makes me anxious. Why exactly is this early period considered so risky?
It's not dangerous exactly, just the most delicate phase. Baby is developing all the important parts and chances of early loss are a bit more. Take your folic acid, avoid heavy lifting and bad foods, go for your checkups. Most pregnancies sail through fine.
First trimester is delicate because that's when most early losses happen and organs are forming. I had a scare so I'm careful saying this, please report any bleeding or strong cramps to your doctor immediately. Otherwise normal care and rest is all most need.
I worried so much in my first 3 months too, kept reading scary stuff online which I regret. Yes it's the sensitive stage when organs form, but stressing doesnt help. Just follow your gynac, take rest and breathe. You'll get through it.
These early months are the tender stage so we take good care and stay calm. I prayed, rested and ate properly and it kept me peaceful through it. Listen to your doctor, keep positive thoughts, and trust your body. It carries you through.
I'm in my first trimester right now and had the same fear honestly. From what my doc told me it's just the sensitive forming phase, not automatically dangerous. Anyone else here feel extra cautious in these first weeks? It does feel reassuring after 12 weeks I'm told.
My doctor explained the first trimester is when baby's main organs are forming, so the body is more sensitive and risk of miscarriage is slightly higher then. That's why they stress folic acid, rest and avoiding harmful things early. After 12 weeks it usually settles a lot.
Beta the word dangerous sounds scary but it just means it's the most delicate time. Baby is forming everything important so we take extra care, eat well, avoid heavy work. Stay close to your doctor and don't panic, things ease after the third month.
