Got a nosebleed out of nowhere this morning and it scared me honestly, never used to happen before pregnancy. Im in my second trimester. Is this a pregnancy thing or should I be worried? anyone else getting this?
An occasional small nosebleed is usually nothing, but if its frequent or heavy or with high BP, get it checked. Dont just ignore a pattern. When unsure, ask ur doctor.
My gynac explained that pregnancy hormones increase blood volume and make the nose lining more sensitive, so occasional nosebleeds are quite normal. Keeping the air humid and not blowing too hard helps. Frequent or heavy bleeding should be mentioned to the doctor though.
I had a few nosebleeds in pregnancy and it scared me, but my doctor said its common because of increased blood flow and dryness. A little saline or vaseline in the nose helped me. If it happens a lot or is heavy though, do tell ur gynac.
