at my last checkup my bp was thoda high and doc told me to monitor it. now im just curious why does it even go up during pregnancy? trying to understand whats happening.
Pregnancy places a lot of physical stress on our cardiovascular system, which can cause blood pressure fluctuations. When I was pregnant through IVF, I had to be so careful and monitor my BP daily because high BP can be risky for the baby. Please speak to your doctor immediately to manage it safely.
Our bodies make almost 50% more blood during pregnancy, which naturally puts extra pressure on the heart. I kept my BP in check by doing light prenatal yoga and evening walks, but only because my gynac allowed it. If your BP is high, please check with your doctor immediately before trying any exercise.
I am currently planning my pregnancy and reading up a lot on this. I heard the body's blood volume increases so much, which can sometimes raise the blood pressure. If you are experiencing high BP, definitely consult your doctor as it needs to be monitored carefully.
I remember panicking when my BP fluctuated slightly in my second trimester, but my doctor told me it's quite common due to hormonal changes and increased blood circulation. Of course, you must check with your gynac to make sure it's within the safe range, but try to stay calm as stress can make it rise more.
An increase in blood pressure can happen due to hormonal changes, extra stress on kidneys, or blood vessel changes. My doctor explained that sometimes placenta development also plays a role in this, which can cause gestational hypertension. High BP is serious, so please consult your gynac right away to keep both of u safe.
Please do not ignore any rise in blood pressure during pregnancy. It can sometimes be a sign of preeclampsia which requires immediate medical attention. I lost a pregnancy before and became extra cautious, so I strongly advise you to contact your gynac right now.
