My bp came a little high at my last checkup and the nurse asked me to monitor it. Im 6 months now and never had bp issues before so im confused why its happening suddenly. is this common in pregnancy?
I had thyroid and they kept a close eye on my BP too. Regular monitoring is everything. If it stays high, your gynac will guide on diet, rest and sometimes medicine. Please keep up with all your follow ups, it really matters.
Body goes through a lot of changes so BP can shift. But high BP is one thing we dont ignore in pregnancy. Keep a check on it, rest, and stay close to your doctor. They will take good care of you and baby.
BP can rise in pregnancy due to hormonal and blood volume changes, but high BP is not something to take lightly. If yours is high, please follow your doctor closely. Watch for headache, swelling, blurry vision and report fast, it can be serious.
My doctor said pregnancy puts extra load on the heart and blood vessels, so BP can go up. But she warned that high BP can lead to preeclampsia, which needs proper monitoring. Thats why they check BP at every visit. Dont skip those checkups.
Some BP rise can happen naturally, but consistently high needs attention. Reduce extra salt, rest well and dont stress too much. Most important, let your doctor track it, dont try to manage high BP on your own.
