Sometimes while climbing stairs I feel breathless faster than before. I am in my second trimester and otherwise reports were okay last visit. Is this common or should I call my gynac?
Omg same, 8 months in and I feel out of breath just walking to the kitchen, baby is literally squishing my lungs. Doc said its normal at this stage. Climbing stairs feels like a marathon now lol.
Totally normal as baby grows and presses on your diaphragm. Sleep with an extra pillow propped up, dont lie flat, helped me. But sudden breathlessness is different, that needs a doctor.
My gynac explained the growing uterus pushes up against the lungs especially in later months so you cant take as deep a breath. Hormones also make you breathe a bit faster. Its common, but if its sudden or with chest pain get it checked immediately.
Happens to most of us as the bump grows. Take it slow, dont rush around. But honestly just mention it at your next checkup so the doc can rule out anemia or anything, better to confirm.
Mild breathlessness is common but I will say this, mine turned out to be linked to low hemoglobin. So please get your blood checked. And if breathing trouble is sudden, severe or with swelling, dont wait, go to the doctor.
